Immunohistochemistry Laboratory

Located at the third floor of the UPR Medical Sciences Campus main building A, this unit has 391.96 square feet. It receives cases in consultation from the Puerto Rico Medical Center and referral cases from all around the island, both for tissue diagnosis, therapeutic decisions and research, on patient's tissues or cells. These tests use antibodies as reactants. The unit has an inventory of 77 antibodies and processes 6,000 stains yearly. The unit is equipped with two Ventana Medical Systems automatized staining machine with capability for 40 simultaneous slides.
